KARACHI: Pakistan pacer Zaman Khan is set to feature in The Hundred next month after he was roped in by the Manchester Originals.
The pacer has been signed on a short-term deal, as a replacement for Ireland’s Joshua Little, from August 16 onwards.
Zaman is considered one of the best death-overs bowlers in the world in the shortest format of the game.
The 21-year-old has featured in 63 T20s, claiming up 84 wickets at an average of 21.33 and with best figures of 4-16.
The right-armer made his international debut for Pakistan against Afghanistan in March this year and has so far played in six T20Is while bowling at an impressive economy rate of 6.66.
The Originals are led by England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and the squad also includes Pakistan leg-spinner Usama Mir.
Earlier, Pakistan pacers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf were picked up by the Welsh Fire in The Hundred Draft in March this year.
However, Pakistan captain Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan remained unsold due to limited availability.
Pacer Ihsanullah was by picked by Oval Invincibles. He was the player of the tournament in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight for taking 22 wickets at an Economy of 7.59.
The event will begin on August 1, with the final set to be played on August 27 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
In the men's competition last year, Trent Rockets prevailed after defeating Manchester Originals in the championship match.
The Oval Invincibles, who defeated Southern Brave in a rematch of the 2021 final, prevailed in the women's competition to claim victory for the second time in a row.
